Here's
what I've done: Gone to the New York State Attorney
and they are sending me a customer fraud complaint
form. Contacted an attorney for advise and
representation. As I made the mistake of giving them
my banking information
because I
did not investigate them further, contacted my bank
and had the debit card cancelled informing them that
this
company may
attempt to make further withdrawals on my account. I
am disabled so I know they cannot garnish that
income.
I'm
recording on my phone to get recordings from the
senior associate who is going by an assumed name as
evidenced on
the Aurora
Gold Exposed.
I just
wanted to take a moment to share our experience with
Aurora Gold and Associates. Just last week, we had
received 2 calls from Aurora Gold and Associates,
both dumb enough to leave voicemails on our phone,
which we have saved to our computer for future
reference in the event we should need for evidence.
First call from a John Russi (claims
investigator) or Russo and the other from Mark Hammon. Both
voicemails left by these two employees with Aurora Gold and
Associates, claimed that complaints have been made and that
papers have been filed in the county court. We called to
get the correct spelling of the agency that had contacted
us, so that we could research to find out who Aurora Gold
and Associates really was and what this may be all about.
We were thrilled to find out all this
information regarding what "con artists" Aurora Gold and
Associates were. Needless to say, we have not returned
there calls nor do we have any intentions of answering to
any of there calls they may attempt to make in the near
future.
I am uncertain if the call we made,
requesting the correct spelling of the name of there agency
may have scared them off, or possibly they regretted leaving
such illegal messages on our voicemail and feel the need to
stop all contact with us as we have enough to file charges
against them.
We had sent a POD (proof of debt
verification) letter to them and addressing to them that we
are fully aware of our legal rights and that we can and will
sue them if it came down to that point. This letter was
sent by registered mail, return receipt requested.
It is now February and I recently read while
conducting a Google search that Aurora Gold and Associates
may be closing there doors in February and that the Feds are
after them. (Ed Note:
Google has picked up this site. Try searching for Stephanie
Iannuzzi.)
I am so happy that I didn't ignore the red
flags after hearing there messages and continued on to
further investigate to find out what the calls were all
about and who Aurora Gold is.
Can anyone verify if in fact that Aurora
Gold and Associates was indeed closed down?
(Not yet.)
Here's an interesting question from Yahoo! Answers about
Aurora Gold and Associates...
Have you ever dealt with Aurora, Gold, & Associates?
I just received several harassing phone calls from them
regarding a debt that I have been trying
to clear from my name for many years.
This company is called, Aurora, Gold, & Associates. They
were, simply put, evil to me on the phone.
I was accused of having a drug problem, told that my
neighbors would be contacted about my
inability to pay back debt, and that if need be, they
would have the police pay me a visit.
They said they were NOT a collections agency, but rather
a firm employed by collections agencies to
secure a debt before they take legal action.
They all said they were lawyers, but when I got on their
website, it said they only have one lawyer
on site. So that leads me to believe they're full
of crap.

These people at Aurora Gold and Associates are bored and
at rock bottom!! I had a Gena Gallo call my mom
in Atlanta yesterday
looking for me stating that I had a court date set up for next Friday due to a
credit card
that wasn't paid off.
I had 7 days to clear this up in the amount of $6000!!! are they insane? my
credit limit
was $1500 and the
card has been closed for almost 6 yrs! I was one of the unfortunate who ALMOST
fell
for this scam. Gena
had her "supervisor" this Matt Stone try to work out a deal with me and pay
$5000
wanting my bank
information and tried to get me to get a loan to pay this off! Fortunately i
didn't have
my check book
on me at that time and called my parents when i got off work hysterical thinking
i was
going to jail. today
i found so many complaints of these people and thank god for the good ones who
come forward. I WILL
help and give any statements to whoever to help close this drug deal piece
of shit no good
hell hole down!!!!
Milwaukee January 9, 2008
In early December, my
parents and sister received a phone call from someone who called himself Mike
Judge (which I
believe is a false name taken from the creator of King of the Hill). He claimed
there
was a pending
suit against me in my county and rattled off some number. So, I immediately
looked
up the number and it
wasn't even in the same format as the court cases in my county. He obviously
falsified the
court case number in order to get my attention.
I called the number given on voicemail and left my husband's phone number. My
husband demanded
proof of debt
and to have all further communication done via USPS mail. We received a letter a
few days later simply
stating the amount that we allegedly owed and that they have bought the
rights to this debt.
Since this was not proof of debt we did not send money.
Just a few days later Mike Judge called me on my cell phone (even though he was
to keep all
communication via
Postal mail). I informed him of my rights and then again requested that
I needed proof of
debt with my signature agreeing to the terms of the debt. He then got
defensive and asked,
"Do you really want to play this game?" I informed him of the law and
stated this was not a
game, these were my rights. He continued to state that I was playing a
game. Since when does
asking for proof of something constitute as a game? I once again informed
him I was
exercising my rights under the law, and that I have been reading about this
company's
illegal games online
(thanks to this website). He told me not to believe everything that I read. So
I rebutted and said,
"It is illegal to falsify a court case number which you did in your original
phone
call to me." He asked
me to prove it. And I said, "I will, since you left the message on my parents
and sister's
voicemail and I saved both." He then said, "Well aren't you special, you know
the law,"
and continued to
state that I was playing a game and if I don't pay within 10 days after proof
of debt, he will take
me to court.
The then asked me why I wanted proof of debt because I know the debt is mine. I
told him I do not
believe the debt is
valid for several reasons, but did not offer these to him. He told me I was a
liar
and he did not
believe me. He said "You WILL pay this debt in full or we will sue your a**
off." I
told him if he can
prove the validity of the debt, then I will make the payment in full. I know he
will not be able to
prove the debt because it is not valid!
In the mean time I have sent him a cease and desist letter and a request in
writing to provide
me with the
following:
1. what the money you say I owe is for
2. how you calculated this amount in a way I can understand
3. show me copies of papers where I agreed to pay what you say I owe
4. provide me with a copy of a judgment (if applicable)
5. identify the original creditor
6. demonstrate that you or your company is licensed in my state, and inform me
of the license number.
I have sent this Certified Mail with Return Receipt so I know that they will get
it.
I know this debt is not valid. I have just purchased a home in August and this
was not even
on my credit report.
I am confident that they will not be able to prove this debt. Additionally,
if they attempt to
contact me by phone after the cease and desist is sent, I will sue them for
harassment.
Do not allow this company to take advantage of you. They are used to
intimidating people in order to
get money that
is not even owed. They have unfair business practices and if they are reported
enough, they will no
longer be in business!!!
Cincinnati, December 26, 2007
aurora gold does not
sue people and its obvious that an employee of their collection agency wrote
that to try and make u people think someone was sued! to be honest it looks like
the work of one Matthew stone! he claims to be an attorney on every call and
leaves it on machines as well. i would love to put this guy in his place!!! he
deserves to be sued personally for threats and claiming to be an attorney. by
federal and state laws u as the debtor have the right to sue not only the
company but u can sue him for any amount of up to 500,000.00 dollars and i
assure u he makes very good money there. on average his bonus checks are about
8000 a month and if i recall he got a close to 20,000.00 bonus about a year ago.
u should please sue him for all he has if he ever contacts u. i am a very
respected and LEGAL!!!! collector and hate people like him who give us
collectors a bad name. please stop him!!!! if u get a call from Matthew stone
please file suit with your attorney general within 24 hours of his stupid
contact! thanks
I am one of the many
unfortunate souls who have been contacted by the malicious wolves at Aurora Gold
and Associates located in New York. I have never, in my life, been spoken to
with such disrespect and complete disregard as I did with one of the associates
from AGA. His name is Richard Abrams, and according to the company's stellar
website, he is ironically titled as the "personnel manager." Throughout the
numerous degrading phone calls from Abrams, I was essentially told that my life
would be completed ruined if I did not pay off my debt immediately. The words
that came out of this man's mouth left me feeling stripped of my dignity and
sense of well-being. My rage then sent me on a mission to find out more about
the collection agency, and that was how I stumbled upon this website. It's
comforting to know that I am not the only woman that has been attacked by this
agency. I went from feeling completely worthless to regaining my
self-confidence. It was then that I "remembered" that I am a well-educated
woman. At that moment, I decided not allow that ferocious behavior to
continue. To anyone else out there who is reading this... You are not alone!
Having a debt does not make you any less of a person! Lets find a way to bring
these cowards down! Fort
